Frank was born January 28, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC to the late William Frank Dixon, Sr. and Gladys Wallace Dixon. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jim Dixon and Morris Dixon, a son, William Frank Dixon III and his loving wife of 63 years, Ann Jackson Dixon.
He is survived by his children, Dean Dixon, his wife, Angie Dixon, and their children, Hunter and Tyler Dixon; Rena Dixon Hodges, her husband, Michael Hodges, and their children, Bruce and Anna Hodges; sister, Jeannie Dixon Wire; and brother, Tom Dixon.
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. (Isaiah 26:3-4)
Frank lived his life with steadfast absolution, secure in his faith and the love he felt for his family and community. Directly after graduating from Clover High School in 1958, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy and married his high school sweetheart, Ann. Frank served his enlistment accompanied by Ann, and was stationed in California and Connecticut on the USS Colonial as an Electrician’s Mate. After active duty, Frank returned to Clover with Ann. 63 years later, their union created a family that serves God and loves each other as they have loved others. Frank and Ann were inseparable. Throughout military service, the raising of a family, and the administration of their many rental properties, they made decisions together and served their community well. Frank loved children and enjoyed immensely his time with the Goods News Club after-school Program, dedicated to teaching children about our Lord. Frank dearly loved and cherished his grandchildren.
Children’s children are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children. (Proverbs 17:6)
Frank was dedicated to the Clover A.R.P Church where he was a long-serving elder and faithful member for more than 50 years. Frank will always be remembered as a hard worker by his family, peers, and co-workers. He enjoyed a varied work life, including 30 years at Hormel Corporation, where he worked as a plant engineer, 10 years at Verna and Associates, where he worked as a property project manager, and in retirement, Frank Dixon Rentals, as owner and manager of his multiple rental properties in Clover. Above all else, Frank will be remembered for the loving spirit he showed to family, friends, and anyone he met which reflected his deep faith in God.
