William Revers Lockey IX, 84 of Fort Mill, SC passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC with his son Billy by his side.

Bill was born on February 22, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan and was an only child to the late Lucille and William Lockey VIII.  He resided in Detroit, Michigan for most of his life where he met and married Beverly Lockey in 1973. There he enjoyed boating on Lake St. Clair, horse-back riding, and flying.  He took early retirement in 1990 from Kelsey-Hayes and began immediate work with family friends at Focus Golf Systems, relocating him and the family to Greenville, SC.   Both Bill and his wife Beverly relocated later in life to Fort Mill, SC to be closer to their son Billy.  He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly in 2015.  Bill loved his family, golf, good food, classic cars and socializing with friends.

In 2019, Bill reconnected with his high school sweetheart Geraldine Mackey of Warren, Michigan after 65 years of living separate lives.   Both Bill and Gerry have been inseparable for the past year and a half and brought such joy to each other’s lives.

Survivors are his son William (Billy) Lockey X and wife Laura Lockey of Lake Wylie, SC, grandchildren William (Will) Lockey XI and Juliet Lockey; daughter Elizabeth Hammer and husband Greg Hammer of Anderson, SC, granddaughter Danielle Liberty of Redford, MI; son Thomas Gargaro and wife Jenna Gargaro of Collierville, TN.

An outdoor memorial service for family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm on the property of the future site for Imagine Church at 5471 Highway 55 East, Lake Wylie, SC.
