William Spitznagel, III Obituary

William (Will) Richard Spitznagel, III, 55, died suddenly on November 8, 2020.

A memorial service will be held on 2:00 PM  Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home at 4820 Charlotte Hwy, Lake Wylie, South Carolina

Will was born March 13, 1965 in Youngstown, Ohio to Bill & Julie Spitznagel.  He and his brother Rick were raised by their loving parents in Austintown and attended Austintown Fitch High School where Will graduated from in 1983.  Will was also a graduate of Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.

Will served a tenured career as a Flight Attendant serving more than 23 years with US Air & American Airlines.   He had a flock of friends who were just like family from American Airlines who loved and supported him for decades.   Special thank you to Daniel Baggett, Janice Gardner, Cyndi Lak and Rob Shulla for their amazing support and care in Will’s final hours.

Will was better known as “Billy” to his parents, his brother Rick, and his nieces and nephews.   Visits from Uncle Billy was like having Santa show up on Christmas!  He was so loved and will be greatly missed.

Will Spitznagel is survived by his mother, Julie Spitznagel; brother, Rick Spitznagel and his wife Teresa, their 3 sons Ricky (Harley) Spitznagel, Matthew Spitznagel, Tanner Allton and daughters Katie Spitznagel and Michelina Allton.

He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Spitznagel, Jr.
