William Robert Phelps of Clover, South Carolina passed away at the age of 91 on July 25, 2022. 

Bob was born December 21, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Carl E. and Mary B. Phelps.  Bob married Mary Jean Frick in 1958.  She predeceased him in September of 2017.  His son, Michael Robert predeceased him in March of 2022.  He is survived by 5 children:  Ann McKinness; Diane Phelps Simmons (Curtis); Brian and Tracy Phelps; Chris and Carol Phelps; Elizabeth Dukes (Chris) and grandchildren, Jason, Jess, Cameron, Christa, Casey, Carl (Lauren), Eric, Melissa, Madeline (Nico) and Nick, and one great grandson, Aidan. Bob was predeceased by brothers Richard Carl and Donald E. Phelps, and his sister Geraldine McDonald. 

Bob graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Saginaw, Michigan in 1948.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He graduated from Bay City Junior College, and then Central Michigan College with a major in Commerce.  He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Fraternity.

He was an employee and partner in the PM Group for 38 years.  He was an Enrolled Agent, and a Certified Professional Business Consultant. 

Bob was a member of Divine Saviour Catholic Church in York, South Carolina.  Cremation has taken place.   A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Divine Saviour on Saturday, September 3rd at 3:00 p.m.  Interment will take place later in September at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan.
