Zachory Preston Obituary

Zachory Nickles Preston, 50, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at home after a courageous fight against cancer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in March.

Mr. Preston was born November 30, 1970 in Greenville, SC.  Zach made a career in “Adventure” which took him from Alaska to the Caribbean with many stops in between. He spent the last several years retired from an operations manager position within the telecom/power industry. Zach’s passion for life included a love for traveling and adventure almost always surrounded by water. He put the U in FUN. Meeting no strangers, he showed us all how to live “Outside the Box,” sharing his love for deep sea fishing, kayak fishing, working on a vintage VW Thing, sailing, hunting, and exploring every facet with determination.

Survivors are the love of his life, wife Rhonda Cartner Preston; mother, Susan Bidinger (Don) of Murrells Inlet, SC; father, Walt Preston (Meryl) of Florida; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Cartner of Lake Wylie, SC. Zach was preceded in death by his sister Vonni Preston Anderson.

Memorials may be made to Imagine Church, 13000 S. Tryon Street, Suite F-114, Charlotte, NC 28278 or
