Edward Robert Farrar

Edward Robert Farrar, 69, of York, SC, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy, Charlotte, NC.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, SC, with Pastor Matt Burrell officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Graveside service will be 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Road, Piedmont, SC with the Rev. Thomas I. Ross officiating. 

Mr. Farrar was born March 23, 1947 in Bennington, VT to the late Leslie William and Evelyn Montville Farrar.   He was a 1965 graduate of Bennington High School, and a 1983 graduate of Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.  He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1966 to 1970.  Mr. Farrar was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, an avid hunter, and member of Hunt and Fellowship Club, Union, SC.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Betty Jane Harris Farrar; sons Brian M. Farrar (Catherine) of Warner Robins, GA and Jason W. Farrar (Sylvia) of League City, TX; daughter Vanessa L. Sexton (Jonathan) of Pelzer, SC; brother Kenneth W. Farrar of Altamont, NY; five grandchildren, Lauren and Ethan Farrar and Molly, Carter and Keira Sexton.  He was predeceased by his sister Norma E. Elmore and brothers Donald L. and Eugene L. Farrar.
