I just learned tonight that dear sweet Billy passed away and I am heartbroken as he was one of the most kind and thoughtful people I've had the good fortune to know. I learned of his death when I called Rita Dulin to get information about our 50th high school reunion. I was so looking forward to seeing him there. I am so very sorry for his children and Judy and Carolyn, as well as his other sisters and family. I am especially sorry I did not know he was at MUSC as I would have been present with him everyday.
I can't think of a more gentle person, kind to the core.

"Bill's common touch" at ease with millionaires and working men/farmers recalls to me a line from my favorite poem from Kipling_ entitled "IF"-- goes something like this: "If you can walk with kings and consorts, and not lose the common touch, and care about the things that matter, but not care too much---"

I would like to send my heart felt condolences to Bill's family. I have only just heard of his passing. I met Bill and Cindy many years ago at a vintagers shoot. They were both kind and generous with their time. We kept in touch after I returned home to England, and I was lucky to visit Bill at home after Cindy had passed when I returned to America. He was a lovely man, a true gentleman and to me he sounded like Elvis which he began to sign his emails off to me. Again please accept my sincere condolence. Livia

I want to give my deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Curry. May you all continue to throw all your anxiety on God because he cares for you all. 1 Peter 5:7 May also the hope of the resurrection bring you all comfort. I attended Olympic High School from 1984-1987. I was lucky enough to have Mr. Curry all three grades I was there. He was my English teacher 10th and 12th grade and my Photography teacher in the 11th grade. There was SO much more to photography then just taking pictures lol. Although I struggled terribly in Photography, he was very generous in the grade C he gave me. English was my strongest subject and I thrived with him as the teacher. He was one of the most patient teachers I ever had. My senior year was my sisters sophomore year and she helped lead the Trojans to a conference championship that year for Coach Curry. I remember how intense he was on game days and how pleased he was the day after during school hours. The following year he coached the Trojans to the schools first ever team state championship in Softball. Great teacher, excellent coach. I never saw him loose his cool once. He will always be one of my favorites in my schooling history. God bless his family. I will be praying for all of you.

My heart is sadden by the passing of Bill Curry. I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with Bill Curry only a few years at Carolina Sporting Arms. In that fraction of Bills life, I was able to witness what a passionate, witty and loving person he was. From past students to co-works and family. Through this difficult time, I am comforted in knowing that he will be with his wife he always spoke of lovingly.

My heart goes out to your family during this difficult time. Please find comfort in our God of tender mercies whom will always be near to those who are "brokenhearted" and "crushed in spirit" during these difficult and sad times (Psalms 34:17,18).

I send my heartfelt condolences to Leigh, Caroline and all of Bill's family. I worked with Cindy at Eastern and met Bill through her. Bill was kind enough to photograph our wedding 27 years ago. I thought the world of Cindy and know Bill was a wonderful husband and father.

We all have some great memories. Remember those Thursday night trips to Twin Tops-we had some really good oysters! There were some great get-togethers with the Perrys and the Hefners too. Just how long did Billy keep that ol' blue truck of Lynn's? One of you girls was almost born to the football stadium in Gastonia! I remember Miss Cindy calling the next day with the news! Good memories for us all!

Bill was an unlimited source of help for me when I started reloading ammo for shooting at the Carolina Sporting Arms. I never saw anyone have the depth of experience and knowledge he had. As friend and he will be missed greatly.

Thinking of Leigh, Caroline, and the grandchildren during this difficult time - They were for sure the apples of their (grand)parent's eyes. Your parent's were two of the best people I know. Only comfort is knowing they are together again. Your mama is just doting lovingly on him like she always did. Love to all.

Billy, as we called him throughout school, was one of the nicest and sweetest guys you would want to know. So many of us Clover kids back in the 1950's - 60's went all 12 years to school together. Billy was respectful of girls and I believe all his sisters were responsible for that. Hank and I send our deepest sympathy for the loss of your Dad and Brother.
