June (Eicher) Henry

June Eicher Henry, 85, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 15th, 2016.

Born on April 2, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA, June was the daughter of the late Lola Lang and the late William Eicher. She grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and graduated from nursing school at Case Western Reserve University, where she met her husband Charles.  June assisted with the first open heart surgery at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland.  June and Charles raised two children, Susan Baker and David Henry and lived in Cleveland, OH; Akron, OH; Valley Forge, PA; Convent Station, NJ; Virginia Beach, VA; and for the past 26 years, Lake Wylie, SC.  June was an avid tennis and bridge player. June dedicated her life to her family and counted her blessings every day.  She will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and her love of life.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 2:00 PM at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 144 Caldwell Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with The Rev. Dr. P. William Greeley officiating.  Private interment will be on Thursday, October 20th at 10:00 AM in the Knollwood Mausoleum, 1678 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124 with Rev. Robert Schuler officiating.

June is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, her daughter Susan (Garry), her son David (Clemente), her three grandchildren Matthew, Alison (Tommy) and Brian, and her sister Irene Eicher Domnisse.
