Faye (Falls) Williams

September 28, 2016

Faye Falls Williams, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 after a long illness.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Clover Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Douglass Key officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the Church.

Faye was a beautiful and loving woman with many interests and talents.  Born in Clover, SC to Elam E. and Iva Whitworth Falls, she was much like her Mother in that she was never interested in divulging her age.

Faye was the oldest of five children and had four unique brothers; Edmond W. Falls, William Joseph Falls, Max Falls, and Charles Leon Falls, each with their own personality and attributes. After graduating from Clover High School, Faye attended Kings Business College in Charlotte and started her career at American Thread and Akers Motor Lines. In 1953, she married Joe Williams and had one daughter, Debra.

Faye was the ultimate multi-tasker, always putting family first while balancing career as an Executive Assistant to the President and Vice-Presidents at Celanese in Charlotte, as well as business ventures with her husband.  While being a devoted Mother and wife, Faye supported family businesses after hours and on weekends, ranging from NASCAR motor racing events, various Bluegrass, Gospel concerts, a successful real estate development business. Faye retired after serving 30 years at Celanese. Among many other post retirement projects, Faye and Joe organized and hosted USS Bayfield Conventions for her husband's shipmates and families from WWII. Faye was an elegant Southern Lady who inspired many young people to get educated, be the best they could be, challenge themselves, reach for the stars.

Faye is succeeded by her Husband of 63 years; Joe Williams of Clover, SC, Daughter Debra Williams Harper and Son-in-Law Dr. John Harper of Heath, Texas, Sisters in Law Judy Faris Falls of Clover, Barbara Wiggins Falls of Bessemer City, NC, nephews J. Scott Falls of Charleston, SC, Byron E. Falls of Belmont, NC,  Eric Falls of Gastonia, NC, nieces Leslee Falls Lengyel of Clover and Marlis Falls Morrison of Gastonia, NC.

The family is extremely grateful to our team of Caregivers, neighbors and friends who have provided care and support during the past year.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clover Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 202 Kings Mountain Street, Clover, SC  29710 or the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
