Barbara Brown McConnell Parrish, of 1 Shipmaster Court, Lake Wylie, SC died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at CMC Pineville, NC.
Memorial service will be 4:00 pm on Friday February 22, 2013 at River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, SC with the Rev. Roger Underwood officiating.   Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 21, 2013 at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC .                            
Mrs. Parrish was born March 14, 1938 in Friendfield, SC  to the late Herman and Lenora Collins Brown.
Mrs. Parrish joined the Clover School family in 1985 as Coordinator of Remedial Programs and later served as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for 17 years before retiring in 2008. She was elected to the Clover School Board in November 2010, where she continued to serve the students and teachers of the greater Clover community.

Prior to working in Clover, Mrs. Parrish spent 21 years with York School District One as a Teacher, Principal Intern, and Assistant Superintendent.
Survivors are her children Lyn M. Harper (Eric), Walt McConnell (Leigh), Anna Parrish, Parks Parrish, grandchildren Erica and Lucas Harper, Allie and Ann Mason McConnell and Jackson Parrish.  She was preceded in death by her husbands William Walter McConnell, Jr. and Dr. Lace Parrish.

To all the family of Barbara Parrish:
I was very sorry to learn of Mrs. Parrish's death! I have many fond memories of her as we worked together in the Clover School District to serve the youth of Clover. She was a gracious, kind, and hard-working lady who put the youth first in all the decisions she made, and she will be greatly missed.
May God bless and comfort all of you at this difficult time of loss!
